This is a supply-management story, not an announcement that Badung has run out of 3 kg LPG. The regency says demand has been increasing since late July, so government and fuel-distribution officials have mapped areas that need temporary allocation adjustments and are adding cylinders where required.
01 What happened in Dalung
Badung Regency published the update on Thursday 17 September after an extra LPG distribution was carried out the previous day. The operation involved the regency's Cooperative, SME and Trade Office — DiskopUKMP — together with Pertamina Patra Niaga Sales Area Bali and the local fuel-distribution network.
The government said two Dalung points were among the locations used on Wednesday 16 September: SPBU 54.803.22 Dalung and BUPPA Desa Dalung. The additional allocation across those points was 6,720 cylinders of 3 kg LPG.
The extra drop is intended to get additional stock into areas where demand has been running above the normal allocation pattern. It does not mean every resident in Badung should expect a special sale at those two locations, and the official notice does not say that 6,720 cylinders is the total amount being added across the whole regency.
02 Demand has been rising since late July
According to the Badung government update, demand for 3 kg LPG has increased from late July through September 2026. In response, Pertamina Patra Niaga, Badung Regency and Hiswana Migas mapped local demand and identified 24 locations where allocations may need adjustment through extra dropping.
The current extra-dropping period is scheduled for 14–25 September, with supply added according to local need and stock conditions. That means the programme is not one single delivery: it is a rolling adjustment across selected points while officials watch demand.
For residents, the useful takeaway is that availability may vary by neighbourhood even when the wider regency supply is considered adequate. A busy official base can temporarily sell through its normal allocation faster than another area, which is why authorities are moving additional cylinders to mapped pressure points.
03 Officials say Badung's supply remains safe
Badung's DiskopUKMP secretary, I Made Wirya Santosa, said coordination with Pertamina Patra Niaga and Hiswana Migas indicates the regency's current 3 kg LPG availability remains safe. He described Badung's quota as equivalent to around 10 million cylinders and said distribution would be carried out progressively.
Pertamina Patra Niaga's Jatimbalinus communications manager, Ahad Rahedi, also said the distribution chain was operating without obstacles — from Integrated Terminal Manggis through agents and official LPG bases.
That distinction matters. The official update is responding to higher demand and trying to prevent local scarcity. It does not report a breakdown in the supply chain or a regency-wide exhaustion of stock.
04 What residents should do if their usual base is out
If your usual seller has no 3 kg cylinders available, the safest next step is to check an official Pertamina LPG base rather than relying on rumours about an island-wide shortage or joining a rush to buy extra cylinders.
Badung's notice directs residents to Pertamina's Subsidi Tepat LPG information service to locate official 3 kg LPG bases. Pertamina also lists Contact Center 135 for supply and distribution information.
Because extra dropping is being adjusted by location, the situation can be different from one village or district to another. A temporary stock-out at one shop does not necessarily describe the wider Badung supply position. Residents should use current official information, especially during the 14–25 September adjustment period.
The update also gives no basis for panic buying. Officials are explicitly describing the measure as an anticipatory supply adjustment while the wider quota and distribution chain remain available.
05 Why this matters beyond Dalung
The 3 kg cylinder is part of Indonesia's subsidised LPG system and is widely used by households and small businesses. In a regency such as Badung — which includes large residential areas as well as Bali's busiest tourism belt — a sudden rise in demand can quickly become noticeable at neighbourhood shops and official bases.
For warungs and other small local businesses, reliable cylinder availability can be an everyday operating issue. For households, repeated local stock-outs can mean extra travel to find an authorised base. The government's decision to map 24 pressure points is therefore a practical local-supply response rather than just a headline about one Dalung delivery.
Visitors are unlikely to need to do anything because of this update. Hotels, villas and restaurants manage their own energy supplies, and the notice does not report any wider tourism disruption. The story is primarily useful for Badung residents and small businesses.
06 What to watch through 25 September
The important question over the next week is whether the extra allocations keep neighbourhood supply stable as demand remains elevated. Badung's published schedule runs through Friday 25 September 2026, but the exact amount delivered to each mapped location depends on local need and field conditions.
Residents should watch for updates from Badung Regency, Pertamina Patra Niaga and official LPG bases if a specific area continues to experience shortages. Any newer official allocation or distribution notice should take priority over this 17 September update.
For now, the verified position is straightforward: demand is up, extra supply is being added, and officials say the wider Badung supply and distribution chain remain safe.
