01Why we're building this
Most Bali content online falls into one of two camps: SEO-farmed listicles that recycle the same ten photos and never mention a downside, or scattered personal blogs that are great but cover one narrow slice of the island. We wanted something in between — organised like a proper reference, honest about trade-offs, and structured so it can actually grow into full coverage of the island over time rather than staying a handful of "top 10" posts forever.

- We say when something changes often (visa rules, prices) instead of stating it as permanent fact.
- We flag real trade-offs — traffic, crowding, ethical concerns — rather than only upside.
- Every guide is filed under a clear department and cross-linked, so you can actually navigate the site like an index, not just stumble through search results.
03Who's behind it
Totally Bali is an independent project, not affiliated with any tourism board, hotel chain, or tour operator. That independence is the point — see how we vet listings for more on how we try to keep it that way as the site grows.
04Where we're headed
We started deliberately small — around 35 pages at launch — with the goal of building toward genuinely comprehensive coverage: every region, every major temple, hundreds of individual stays, and a properly maintained news section tracking what's actually changing on the ground.
