01 Who we are

Totally Bali started from a simple frustration: most Bali travel content online is either recycled listicle filler optimised for search engines rather than usefulness, or paid promotional content dressed up as independent advice. We wanted to build something different — a genuinely comprehensive, honestly written guide covering the practical realities of visiting Bali, from currency exchange logistics to which beaches are actually worth the drive.

02 What we cover

The site spans planning essentials (visas, budgets, getting around), destination guides for every major region of the island, hotel and accommodation reviews, activity and things-to-do coverage, food and culture guides, and ongoing news on visa rules, infrastructure and anything else that affects how people actually experience Bali. We're not trying to be the prettiest travel blog — we're trying to be the most useful reference when you're actually planning or in the middle of a trip.

03 Our approach

See our how we vet what we recommend page for the full detail, but the short version: we'd rather tell you honestly that a famous attraction is overrated or overcrowded than pad out positive coverage nobody needed. Prices, practical details and recommendations are kept as current as we can manage, and we actively welcome corrections — see our contact page.

04 Ongoing work

Travel information is perishable, so pages are reviewed when rules, prices, transport or local conditions materially change. The goal is not to publish the most pages; it is to make each page worth keeping, bookmarking and checking again before a trip. If you spot a factual gap or stale detail, we'd like to hear about it.

05 TATS Man

TATS Man is the public author voice behind Totally Bali and the wider TATS network. He brings destination experience, judgement, humour and a recognisable point of view to stories where a human voice makes the guide more useful, while researched facts are sourced rather than dressed up as first-hand experience.
