01Waterbom Bali
Set in landscaped tropical gardens in the middle of Kuta, Waterbom is consistently rated among the best water parks in Asia, with a genuinely wide range of slides — from gentle family rides to some of the steepest, fastest slides you'll find at any park in the region. It's well maintained, with real trees and greenery throughout rather than a bare concrete lot, which sets it apart from a lot of water parks elsewhere.
02Other water parks
Circus Waterpark in Seminyak offers a smaller, more boutique alternative with a rooftop pool and slide setup aimed more at an adult day-out crowd than families. A handful of smaller local water parks exist around the island too, generally aimed at domestic visitors and considerably more modest in scale than Waterbom.
03What to bring
- Reef-safe sunscreen, reapplied often — you'll be in direct sun most of the day.
- A change of clothes and a dry bag for your phone/wallet.
- Water shoes if you have sensitive feet — most walkways are fine barefoot, but it adds comfort over a full day.
04Who it suits
Water parks are an easy win with kids after a few days of temples and rice terraces, and a genuinely fun full day out for adults too — Waterbom's more extreme slides aren't just a family-park afterthought. It's also a sensible plan B for a rainy-season day when beach plans might be less appealing.
05Practical tips
Arrive early to beat both the heat and the queues on the more popular slides, which build up noticeably by early afternoon. Lockers and towel rental are available on site if you'd rather not carry belongings around all day.
